Pace
Summer Student Pass
The Pace Board of Directors approved a new
summer student pass and changes to another that may be the
students' best friend since the pencil. The all-new Summer
Campus Connection Pass gives college students unlimited rides on
Pace between June 1 and August 31 for $140. Previously, the
Campus Connection was only available for the fall and spring
semesters. The new summer pass was developed in response to
requests by passengers.
High school and middle school students will
see their summer student pass get a fun upgrade; as the Student
Summer Haul Pass will now be accepted for travel on the Six
Flags Great America Express without a surcharge. This is on top
of unlimited rides on Pace service during the summer months for
$45.
Pace passes offer a tremendous value for
regular users of the fixed route bus system, and can be bought
at sales outlets or through our Ticket-By-Mail or
Ticket-By-Internet programs. For more information on Pace
passes, please visit
www.pacebus.com.

Illinois
Disaster Assistance Program
DuPage County wants to remind residents that assistance is still
available for those affected by the floods that occurred during
September 13 - October 5, 2008.
Through the Illinois Disaster Assistance Program (IDAP), eligible
residents could receive assistance that includes: mold inspection and
mold clean-up; home repairs to address health and safety issues;
replacement of furniture through the Sharing Connections Furniture Bank;
and education workshops through the University of Illinois Cooperative
Extension on mold detection, prevention and clean-up.
Also, if residents are experiencing financial hardship due to flood
related losses, they may be eligible for assistance with their mortgage,
utilities or food. Residents must be able to document out-of-pocket
expenses which exceed any compensation received by their household
related to the flood.
For more information, and to see if you qualify, please contact
DuPage County Community Services at 630-407-6500 or you can call toll
free at 800-942-9412.
