Village Building Codes

The Village has adopted national building codes to set minimum building standards for the community.  These codes ensure safe and sound construction.  The building codes are:

• 2006 International Residential Code (with amendments)
• 2006 International Building Code (with amendments)
• 2006 International Fuel Gas Code
• 2006 International Mechanical Code
• 2006 International Fire Code
• 1996 BOCA National Fire Prevention Code
• 2003 International Property Maintenance Code
• 2004 State of Illinois Plumbing Code (with amendments)
• 2005 National Electric Code (with amendments)
• Current Year Hanover Park Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance
• 1997 Illinois Accessibility Code
• 1998 IDPH Food Service Sanitation Code
• 1996 DuPage County Health Department Food Service Design and Construction Manual
• 1993 IDPH Retail Food Store Sanitation Code
• Current Year Hanover Park Sign Code

If you have specific inquiries regarding the above Codes, please contact the Community Development Department at (630) 372-4260.  Copies of the Zoning Ordinance, Sign Code, and Subdivision Regulations may be reviewed or purchased through the Village Clerk's Department.  All other codes are available at your local library or can be purchased through the publisher.
