The Complete Count Committee is charged with developing and implementing a plan designed to target the unique characteristics of their community to increase awareness about the census, and promote & motivate residents in the community to respond to the census. The census is used to reapportion the House of Representatives, determining how many seats each state gets and is vital to ensuring proper federal funding to the village.

Mayor Craig kicked off the meeting and thanked members committee for their help. Village Clerk Eira Corral Sepulveda outlined Hanover Park’s strategy to get word out that the 2020 Census is Safe, Secure and Important. As part of their efforts, members of the committee will be help roll out Hanover Park’s 2020 Census “Be Counted” awareness campaign. The campaign, whose logo is available in 7 languages, advocates for all members of the community to respond to the 2020 Census and “Be Counted.” During the meeting, committee members collaborated in groups to brain storm ideas to get the message out to their constituents and committed to conducting census related activities within their organizations.
