COVID-19 Resources for Businesses

The State has issued a Shelter in Place order. Only "Essential Businesses" are permitted to continue on-site operations.

In addition to resources posted here, please visit the Village’s main COVID-19 page for important information and updates from the Village.  The Village of Hanover Park is working to assist our businesses as they navigate this difficult situation.  Circumstances are changing quickly, so check back regularly for updates.

  • We encourage all Hanover Park business to subscribe to our monthly Business Matters newsletter.  Please note, once you enter your email, you will need to click on the email icon to subscribe.  You will then receive an email to confirm your subscription.

In coming days we may use this email system to send information on resources regarding the COVID-19 virus.  You can also view previous issues.

  • The Village has temporarily modified sign regulations.  Permit fees will be waved for temporary banners and sandwich signs will be permitted; businesses may consider temporary window signs.  For permitting, please contact Inspectional Services.

For public health information, please see our Public Health Alert.  Please be aware that Village officials are closely monitoring the situation in conjunction with County, State, and Federal officials.  County, State, and Federal agencies may be issuing guidance or orders independently of the Village.

If you are considering applying for financial resources, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.  Most loan programs are "first-in-first-out".

  • The Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity (DCEO) is providing grants and resources to various businesses to help them during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Additionally, the DCEO is surveying businesses to target relief to hardest hit areas.  Please fill out this form to help target resources to our area.
  • The recently passed CARES act allots money to help small businesses retain employees.  The US Chamber of Commerce has put together a guide.
  • Food & Beverage businesses and Hospitality businesses, please check out a new grant program that DCEO has developed with ACCION
  • Cook County has released a COVID-19 Taxes, Fines and Fees Relief Package.  Additionally, Cook County is asking businesses to fill out a survey to help them target aid.
  • A program of the Federal Government, the Small Business Administration works to provide assistance to small businesses.  One of it’s programs is the Disaster Assistance Program.  For additional information, there is a summary and presentation on the program.  There are the eligibility criteria.
  • The Small Business Administration and the US Chamber of Commerce briefed the Illinois Chamber of Commerce on actions being done with regards to COVID-19. Here are the notes from that presentation.
  • The Treasurer of Illinois announced a new program that will is making $250 million available through Illinois banks and credit unions to help small businesses.
  • The Illinois Department of Revenue created a web page to provide information and resources to help Illinois taxpayers, businesses, and others affected by the Coronavirus.
  • The IRS has established a special section focused on steps to help taxpayers, businesses and others affected by the Coronavirus.
