Slow the Spread, but NOT the 2020 Census Response Rate! Hanover Park Distributes Protective Face Coverings and Promotes the Census
MAY 1, 2020- Governor Pritzker has mandated all individuals wear a cloth face covering beginning May 1st. See the below information from the CDC.
HOW TO WEAR A CLOTH FACE COVERING AND MAKE ONE AT HOME FROM CDC
Cloth face coverings should:
- fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
- be secured with ties or ear loops
- include multiple layers of fabric
- allow for breathing without restriction
- be able to be laundered and machine dried without damage or change to shape

May 8, 2020- The Village of Hanover Park has combined two key initiatives, the 2020 Hanover Park Census Response Rate and the health of residents, into one ambitious community outreach project. The Slow the Spread, but NOT the 2020 Census Response Rate is an initiative to promote the importance of getting all Hanover Park residents to respond to the 2020 census and help to keep residents safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Village of Hanover Park has purchased 5,000 protective face coverings that are being placed in 2020 Census promotional packaging. The packages are labeled with information on how to respond to the 2020 Census as well as phone numbers for multiple languages if residents need help to complete the census.The masks are being distributed by members of the Hanover Park Complete Count Committee and other area community partners. Mayor Rod Craig, Trustee Herb Porter and Village Clerk Eira Corral Sepulveda delivered the protective face covering to the following organizations for distribution to their constituents:

The Village of Hanover Park received grant funding from the National League of Cities (NLC) Census Rapid Response Grant program. The focus of the census promotion was placed in Hanover Park’s Hard to Count (HTC) census tracts to promote higher rates of response and to help keep residents safe.
