DCEO BIG Assistance Program

BIG Application Deadline Upcoming December 15, 2020
Don’t Wait to Apply! 


The State anticipates that it will award the remainder of the $270 million in funds through this program in the coming weeks.  Therefore, the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO and its grant administration and outreach partners are reminding small business owners to get their application in if they haven’t already. Applying is easy, and DCEO along with its grant administrators Accion and WBDC have developed a menu of resources and technical assistance to help small businesses in need qualify for grants. Resources and more info are available HERE.
 
BIG grants, leveraging federal CARES Act dollars, provide grants tailored to business losses, with amounts ranging between $5,000-$150,000. The average grant provided to date is $25,000. Grant funds may be used toward operational expenses, including PPE, rent and utilities, payroll, and more.

ComEd's Small Business Assistance Program

ComEd’s Small Business Assistance Program provides eligible small-business customers that are past due on their energy bills with a one-time grant equal to 30 percent of their total ComEd balance (up to $1,000) for a limited time. Customers whose electric service has not been disconnected can then set up their remaining balance due on a payment plan of up to six months.  

Small-business customers can visit ComEd.com/SmallBizAssistance or call 1-877-4-COMED-1 (1-877-426-6331) to learn more or apply for the Small Business Assistance Program.


Residence Assistance

Cook County is accepting applications for the resident cash assistance program through December 11, 2020.   Learn More at:  https://www.cookcountyil.gov/recovery.  

The ComEd Helping Hand program provides a limited, ONE-TIME grant of up to $300 to help reduce past-due balances of income-eligible customers.  Residential customers can apply for Helping Hand grants at ComEd.com/PaymentAssistance.
