Congressman Krishnamoorthi Presents Hanover Park with Check for Federal Funding He Secured for Wastewater Treatment Plant On Wednesday, August 2nd, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi presented Mayor Craig and the Village of Hanover Park with $600,000 in federal community project funding he secured for Hanover Park’s Wastewater Treatment Plant. The funding will be used to make updates to the Wastewater Treatment Plant’s ultraviolet (UV) disinfection system.
The ultra-violet (UV) disinfection system destroys viruses, pathogens, and bacteria in the effluent of the sewer treatment plant that is released into the DuPage River. The system does not use chlorine or any other chemicals. There are no residual effects on human or aquatic life, and it helps in supporting a robust ecosystem in the DuPage River.
