Hanover Park Police Department Receives Illinois Traffic Safety Challenge Award

Hanover Park, IL – The Hanover Park Police Department is proud to announce an award of First Place for the 2024-25 Illinois Traffic Safety Challenge in the Municipal 51-65 officer category.

The Illinois Traffic Safety Challenge is coordinated by the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police (ILACP) Traffic Committee. It recognizes the best overall traffic safety programs in the state by assessing departmental policies, training, enforcement activities, and public information and education.

“I am proud of the work put forth by our officers in achieving First Place in the Illinois Traffic Safety Challenge,” said Police Chief Andrew Johnson. “This award reflects the hard work and dedication our officers bring to traffic safety each day. We will continue to prioritize traffic safety to ensure safe roadways for our residents and visitors.”

“This prestigious award exemplifies the high level of service and commitment shown by our police officers on a daily basis. The safety of our community is of utmost importance, and I congratulate the Hanover Park Police Department on this achievement,” said Mayor Rodney Craig.

The Hanover Park Police Department will be formally presented with the award at the Midwest Security and Police Expo on August 15, 2025.
