The Hanover Park Police Department announces St. Patrick’s Day impaired-driving enforcement results
Hanover Park, IL – The Hanover Park Police Department announced it made 219 traffic stops and issued 171 citations during the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement period (March 13 through 6 a.m. March 23). Enforcement focused on impaired driving involving alcohol, cannabis, and other drugs.
During the campaign, the Hanover Park Police Department reported:
- 4 impaired driving arrests
- 23 speeding
- 15 no valid, suspended, or revoked driver's license
- 18 uninsured
- 4 distracted driving
“We strongly enforce traffic laws for one reason—to save lives,” said Deputy Chief DiVito. “Whether it’s alcohol, cannabis, or another drug, impaired driving puts everyone at risk.”
The Hanover Park Police Department joined forces with state and local law enforcement and highway safety partners in the St. Patrick’s Day “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Drive High. Get a DUI” enforcement campaign.
The safety effort was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
