It is the holiday season again and for many years the Village held an annual tree trimming ceremony in front of Village Hall. This event transitioned to the current Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Join us on December 7th at 6:00 p.m. for our annual Tree Lighting Ceremony event. The theme is Posada: A Community Holiday Event!

We will continue the traditon of welcoming a special visitor from the North Pole who will help flip the switch to light up all of the Village's holiday decorations.

Special Brush Pickup December 3rd

Due to the snow event that occurred on November 25th, the Village will have a brush pickup that will begin on December 3, 2018. The normal conditions of the brush pickup will still apply.

1. Brush needs to be out by 7:00 am on December 3rd
2. Branches 2 – 10 feet long
3. Up to 8 inches in diameter

The branch pickup will likely take several days, but once the trucks complete a neighborhood, they will not return for a second pass. Please have all brush on the curb by 7:00 am Monday morning. If you have questions, please call Public Works at 630.823.5700.

Mailbox Hit By A Village Snow Plow?

The Village of Hanover Park will replace mailboxes that have been damaged through direct contact with a snow plow, only if the original mailbox was installed in compliance with Village regulations. If your mailbox is hit, a temporary repair will be made so that you can continue to receive mail.

When winter ends and the ground thaws, final repairs will be made. If replacement of the mailbox or post is required, a standard metal size mailbox and 4x4 wood post will be installed.

Contact the Public Works Department at 630.823.5700 immediately to report mailbox damage.

With the recent snow event that happened, the Village put out alot of information related to it. There are several ways to receive quick information from the Village when an event such as this happens. To receive information electronically from the Village:

Sign up to receive emergency alerts and news that are posted to the Village website- Go to hpil.org and click on the Notify Me icon on the main page of our website. From there sign up to receive a wide variety of information posted to the website. Choose between email notification or text messaging.
"Like" our Facebook page- The Village posts a wide variety of information and happenings on our Facebook page as well as emergency alert information.
"Follow" us on Twitter- Most information appearing on Facebook is posted to the Twitter account.

Free Payment Options Available For Village Services!

The Village of Hanover Park wants to remind residents that it provides FREE payment options for Village Services that do not incur additional credit and debit card processing fees:

Paper Checks – can be mailed to the address on the invoice or deposited into various drop boxes in the Village Hall.
Auto-Draft – (for water bill payments only) – is a convenient monthly withdrawal from a bank account that automatically pays your water bill, so it’s never late. You continue receiving water bills, so you can monitor water use and will always know exactly how much will be transferred.
E-Lock Box – Online bill pay through customer’s bank
Cash, Check, Money Order and Cashier’s Check – payment will continue to be accepted at all payment counters (Village Hall)
