  1. Tree Lighting Ceremony- Posada: A Community Holiday Event

    Join us on December 6th at 6:00 p.m. for our annual Tree Lighting Ceremony event. We will continue the traditon of welcoming a special visitor from the North Pole who will help flip the switch to light up the Village's holiday decorations.   3. WBDC Business Counseling

    Thinking of opening your own business? Not sure where to start? The Village of Hanover Park has collaborated with the Women’s Business Development Center (WBDC) to help. The WBDC has offers satellite office hours at the Village of Hanover Park, at Village Hall, 2121 W Lake St, Hanover Park, EVERY 2nd Tuesday of the month between 10am - 3pm. Aisha McBurrows of the WBDC will meet with you, at no cost, to discuss start-up and business expansion. She can help with Business Plans, sales projections, marketing, access to capital, expansion plans, structuring requests for financing, and more.   4. Economic Development (formerly C.O.N.E.C.T.) Committee Meetings

    C.O.N.E.C.T. Committee On Networking Education and Community Teamwork C.O.N.E.C.T. serves as a representation of businesses in the community. Members provide valuable assistance in growth of economic development through creative strategies and feedback on business-related regulations. Our focus is to encourage business growth and economic development. Goal of C.O.N.E.C.T. is to serve as a business liaison, support economic development events, help businesses to network with each other and connect with the Village through annual networking opportunities. Local businesses are welcome to attend C.O.N.E.C.T. meetings to learn about ongoing Village activities. Meeting are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 12:30 p.m. in Room 214 of the Municipal Building.   5. Sister Cities Committee

    December 10, 2019, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Hanover Park Police Headquarters Community Room

    The Sister Cities Committee's functions are to promote, foster, and publicize local, state, and national Sister Cities Programs. The committee acts to foster international municipal cooperation through aid and education. Due to the generosity of residents, businesses and not-for-profit agencies, we have been able to forward several containers of goods to Cape Coast. Annually, the Sister Cities collects surplus school supplies from students of surrounding schools. In 2010 Hanover Park welcomed our second Sister City of Valparaiso, Zacatecas, Mexico. The Committee meets at 7:00 PM on the second Tuesday of each month, in the Community Room at the Police Headquarters, 2011 Lake Street. The Public is invited to attend.

  6. Development Commission

    December 12, 2019, 7:00 PM - 7:29 PM @ Hanover Park Village Hall

    The Hanover Park Development Commission is a public hearing body that makes recommendations to the president and the board of trustees. The Commission utilizes the Village’s Comprehensive Plan recommendations to provide long-term policy direction. It conducts public hearings on all petitions for zoning variations, special uses, planned unit developments, rezonings (zoning map amendments), and text amendments. All meetings are open to the public.

  7. Heartsaver/AED CPR

    December 14, 2019, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Training Room

    The HeartSaver/AED course is designed to teach CPR, the use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), and what to do in the event of a choking emergency for victims of all ages. This course is designed for those that are expected to help in the event of an emergency in the workplace. This class is also highly recommended for new parents, babysitters, and anyone that wishes to help in the event of an emergency. This class follows the recommendations set by the American Heart Association.

  8. Adjudication Hearing- Parking Tickets and Village Ordinances

    December 17, 2019, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ Hanover Park Village Hall

    Beginning May 1, 2014, the Village of Hanover Park began utilizing an adjudication process for the mediation of all parking and local ordinance tickets. If you are a resident and receive a parking ticket, on the ticket is a hearing date should you wish to be heard in regards to the violation. Hearings are held at the Village Hall, 2121 Lake Street, Room 214. Simply report on the date assigned and check in with the clerk. If you are a Non-Resident of the Village you may waive your appearance and submit an affidavit stating the facts or reasons for contesting the ticket. These forms may be obtained at the Police Department front desk. Please be advised if the Adjudicating Judge determines you are liable then a $100 court fee will be assessed on top of the initial fine of the ticket. VEHICLE IMPOUNDS AND RED LIGHT CAMERA VIOLATIONS AT 2PM. ALL OTHER VIOLATIONS ARE SET FOR 2:30PM.

  9. Cultural Inclusion and Diversity Committee Monthly Meeting

    This meeting will be held at Village Hall in Room 123 outside of the Clerk's Office. The Cultural Inclusion and Diversity Committee fosters and promotes understanding, mutual respect, cooperation, and positive relations between and among all residents of the Village by creating a sense of shared community among residents and affirming the value of each resident.

    The meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. and continue until the agenda is completed. Regularly scheduled meetings are the first and third Thursday of each month.

  11. Historic Committee

    December 24, 2019, 6:00 PM - 6:30 PM @ Hanover Park Village Hall

    The purpose of the Historical Committee is to promote educational, cultural, economic and general welfare of the community by ensuring the preservation of structures and properties that represent the cultural heritage of the Village of Hanover Park and of the community prior to the Village's incorporation. Projects include scanning of historic photo's, organizing of historic materials and artifacts and maintenance of two historic cemeteries and documentation of plots, including mapping.
