MOVE WITH THE MAYOR™ (MWTM) is a collaboration with the National Forum for Heart Disease & Stroke Prevention. Mayors encourage their communities to be physically active to lower their chances of heart disease and its risk factors like high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and diabetes. Hanover Park is challenging the communities of West Chicago, Bartlett, Glen Ellyn, and Glendale Heights to a step contest in the month of September.

A Message for Hanover Park Businesses: Sandwich Board Signs

The Village hopes that the sandwich board signs that were provided to Hanover Park businesses have been helpful during the pandemic, and hopefully brought in new customers.  Effective immediately, please ensure that all signs are following the criteria agreed to, as part of the sign application:

  • Use of the sandwich board sign(s) is temporary - Only one sign per business
  • Max area: 6 sq. ft./side. Max 2 sides. Max height 4 feet.
  • Sandwich board signs shall be placed within 10 feet of an entrance into the business
  • Allowed only during business hours and shall be taken down by the close of business each day
  • Signs shall not be placed in the public right-of-way or block any required ADA accessible route
  • Signs shall not be used in high-wind environments
  • Windblown and attention getting devices, including balloons, shall not be attached or otherwise made part of the sign
  • Sandwich board signs shall be filled with sand or water as ballast
  • Unused signs should be returned to the Village’s Community Development Department
  • The Village is indemnified for any and all damage caused by the sign.

The Village will be enforcing the above criteria, and in order to not be in violation of the above, please ensure that these regulations are followed when you use sandwich board signs (regardless of whether they were provided by the Village or you used your own).  If you have any questions, please contact the Community Development Department at (630) 823-5780 or Inspectional Services at (630) 823-5860.

Your Last Chance for the Next 10 Years! Ends September 30th!

Over 95% of households have been counted in the 2020 Census. The census bureau is in the final stage of collecting responses for this once-a-decade population count of everyone living in the United States. Don’t be left out! Every response matters.

Cenus takers are currently visiting households that have not yet responded. Households can still respond online at 2020census.gov, by phone at 844.330.2020, or by completing and mailing back their paper questionnaire. The time to act is now!
