February Is Black History MonthIn past years, Hanover Park celebrated Black History Month with an annual Sister Cities Committee Black History event. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the event was canceled this year. We look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of Black Americans next year.
In celebration of Black History Month, the Village of Hanover Park and the Sister Cities Committee previously hosted a presentation about the History of Black Music. To watch the event, click here.

Heart Health AwarenessThe month of February is heart health awareness month. We have partnered with the American Heart Association to share some symptoms of a heart attack. Identifying the symptoms early can help a loved one in need. Remember to call 9-1-1 if anyone is experiencing any of the signs or symptoms of a heart attack. - CHEST DISCOMFORT- Most heart attacks involve discomfort in the center of the chest that lasts more than a few minutes, or that goes away and comes back. It can feel like uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain.
- DISCOMFORT IN OTHER UPPER BODY AREAS- Symptoms can include pain or discomfort in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw, or stomach.
- SHORTNESS OF BREATH- With or without chest discomfort.
- OTHER SIGNS- May include breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea, or lightheadedness.
