Remember to Change Your Clocks and Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarm Batteries

Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at 2:00 a.m. At this time, clocks will “fall back” or set back one hour, giving us more daylight in the dark fall and winter mornings. 

Also remember to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms during this time. According to the National Fire Protection Association, almost three out of five home fire deaths were caused by fires in properties with no smoke alarms or smoke alarms that failed to operate. The risk of dying in reported home structure fires is 55 percent lower in homes with working smoke alarms than in homes with no alarms or none that worked.

2021 Roadway Resurfacing Update

The 2021 Roadway Resurfacing Project has been completed!  This project was a huge success and a much-needed improvement to our Village streets.  This project involved resurfacing 5.82 miles of Village streets and making ADA improvements at various sidewalk locations.  The Village thanks the residents for their patience during the construction process.  In the coming week the Village’s contractor will be removing construction signs and completing the final clean up.   

2021 Resurfacing and Water Main Project

The 2021 Resurfacing and Water Main Project is nearing completion.  This week the Village’s prime contractor completed all the resurfacing work on the affected streets.  Parkway restoration has also been completed at the new sidewalk and curb locations throughout the project.  In the coming week, residents will see pavement markings being completed and final clean up of construction debris and the removal of construction signage.
