Health and Resource Fair Tomorrow!The Hanover Park Health & Resource Fair, sponsored by Mayor Craig's Kids at Hope Coalition, will be held tomorrow from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Hanover Park Park District. This is an opportunity to meet with 50+ vendors from social services, sports and recreation, government, healthcare, mental health, community groups, libraries, and more to find out what programs and services they offer. There will also be games and activities for the kids, performances by local student groups, a face painter, prizes and giveaways, and a raffle. Raffle prizes are a family pool pass to Seafari Springs, restaurant gift cards, and other fabulous door prizes. Each person attending will receive a free raffle ticket. Bring a non-perishable food donation to earn extra raffle tickets (limit 5 extra tickets). This is a fun and informative event for all ages!

Arlington Drive Bridge Update As the weather is hinting at spring, we have officially resumed construction on the Arlington Drive Bridge. This week, crews finished installing all the riprap for the culvert and removing all of the pavement. Crews will begin grading and aggregate base improvements for the roadway, sidewalk, and curb and gutter in preparation for the new sidewalk and curb and gutter to be installed. Once the concrete work is completed and the asphalt plants open for the season, the road will be paved and reopened. This work is contingent upon the weather. We appreciate our residents' continued patience and look forward to completing this project and starting our other projects soon! Be Prepared for an Emergency: Learn CPR. Save a Life. In a cardiac emergency, every minute counts. CPR can double or even triple the chance of survival. Protecting your family, your friends, and your community starts with being prepared. The Hanover Park Fire Department offers CPR training, which includes learning child and adult CPR, how to help a choking victim, and how to operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). March 28th is the Day of the Bunny!
Breakfast with the Bunny hosted by the Lions Club - March 28thThe Hanover Park Lions Club is hosting Breakfast with the Bunny on March 28th at the Community Center. Beginning at 8:00 AM, the Lions will be serving a buffet-style ALL YOU CAN EAT pancake breakfast. The Bunny will also be available for photos with attendees! Tickets are available for sale at the Park District for $7 dollars for those 13 years and under and $8 dollars for those 13 and older. - Agatha Christie: A Body of Evidence - March 21 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Join performance artist, Debra Miller, as Agatha Christie in Beit Agatha as she reminisces with you about her childhood, her life as a writer, and as an adventurer. Poplar Creek Public Library - Sonya Crawshaw Branch- Wonder About Your Water? @ Main Branch - March 2 - March 31: This exhibit, from the award-winning environmental & education non-profit SCARCE, explores the three watersheds of DuPage County, and empowers locals to think about the way they use water—and the ways that we can all help to protect that water supply together. All ages are welcome! Exhibit located in the Reference Department (near the front entrance of the Main Library).
- Feature Film Showing @ Main Branch - March 14 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Join the library for a Saturday matinee of the movie, Dog Man. Bring your own snacks. All ages are welcome. This film is rated PG and has a runtime of 89 minutes.
- Women Who Measured the Stars @ Main Branch - March 17 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM: In the late 19th and early 20th Century Women Astronomers of the Harvard College Observatory calculated the distances, temperatures and composition of the stars. Facing many challenges including sexism from their male colleagues whose common belief was that women were not worthy of earning college degrees and could never achieve serious scientific accomplishments. Everyone has heard of Galileo and Newton, now it’s time to learn of the Women Who Measured the Stars.
