Special Storm Damage Pickup - Aug. 3rdDue to the storm earlier this week, the Public Works Department will conduct a Village-wide storm damage pick-up next Monday, August 3rd. This will include picking up branches, limbs, trees, and vegetation that have been placed on the parkway. • Dimensions: Branches must be a minimum of 2 feet and a maximum of 10 feet in length. • Thickness: Branches must be less than 8 inches in diameter. • Placement: Brush must be stacked neatly in one direction with the cut end facing the street. • Clearance: Piles must not block the sidewalk, and vehicles must not be parked in front of the brush pile, blocking access for the chipper. • No Bundling: Branches should be left loose; they must not be tied or bundled with wire, twine, or rope. To prevent damage to the chipping equipment and keep the resulting mulch clean, Hanover Park crews will reject piles containing: • Unorganized or tangled brush piles. • Branches or brush with thorns. • Small hedge or pine clippings. • Yard waste or brush placed in containers or bags. • Lumber, construction materials, wire, or rope.
