U.S. Small Business Disaster Loans Now AvailableThe Village is pleased to announce that the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has approved a disaster declaration for the severe storms and flooding that impacted six counties in northeastern Illinois, from July 2-4, 2026. The declaration covers the Illinois counties of Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, and McHenry. This declaration makes available low interest federal disaster loans for Illinois small businesses, private non-profits, and residents to help cover damage and losses not covered by insurance. If you wish to apply for this loan online, visit sba.gov/disaster. Applicants may also call SBA’s Customer Service Center at (800) 659-2955 or email disastercustomerservice@sba.gov for more information on SBA disaster assistance. For people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have a speech disability, please dial 7-1-1 to access telecommunication relay services. If you prefer to speak to someone in person, SBA Disaster Loan Outreach Centers have also opened in a number of locations. SBA customer service representatives will be available at each center to answer questions, explain the application process and help applicants complete their applications. Walk-Ins are welcome. Eligible residents and business owners may visit any Disaster Loan Outreach Center, regardless of where they live. Prisco Center, 150 W. Projects in Progress2026 Hydrant Painting Update: The Village’s contractor began sandblasting, priming, and painting the fire hydrants in the neighborhoods along Lake Street. This project is anticipated to be completed early next week. 2026 Pavement Patching Update: This week, the Village’s internal crew started asphalt pavement patching throughout the Village. This work is expected to be completed within the next few weeks. Lake Street Multi-Use Path Update: The contractor finished pouring the concrete sections of the path. They also began landscaping restoration. Weather permitting, all concrete and asphalt work will be completed at the end of August. This project will include daily lane closures along Lake Street from Church Street/Metra Station to Turnberry Drive. Ontarioville Phase II Improvements: The Village’s contractor has continued preliminary construction activities (brush clearing, placing silt fence, etc.) in preparation for full construction activities to start on the new gathering space across from the existing Ontarioville plaza. This new gathering area will include interactive features such as a fire place, a light-up swing and musical instruments.

Projects to Begin Soon2026 Arterial Fence Update: The Village’s contractor is scheduled to begin spot repairs and replacement of the Village’s arterial fence along portions of Irving Park Road and Barington Road the first week of September. County Farm Road Multi-Use Path Update: Path installation will resume once utility relocations take place. Non-Village ProjectsFiber Installation (Lumos/T-Mobile): Lumos/T-Mobile has several fiber installation projects throughout the Village. These are not Village-run projects. Any questions or concerns about these projects should be directed to Lumos’s Construction Hotline at 800-905-9017. Be Prepared for an Emergency: Learn CPR. Save a Life. In a cardiac emergency, every minute counts. CPR can double or even triple the chance of survival. Protecting your family, your friends, and your community starts with being prepared. The Hanover Park Fire Department offers CPR training, which includes learning child and adult CPR, how to help a choking victim, and how to operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
