Veterans Day Observance

The Village of Hanover Park’s Veterans Committee invites all residents to attend the Veterans Day Observance to honor and recognize Hanover Park veterans on November 11th at 7pm in the Public Works Building- 2041 W. Lake Street, Hanover Park.

Youth of the Year Scholarship Program

The Village of Hanover Park is seeking candidates for the 2019-2020 Michael H. Coleman Youth of the Year Award / Scholarship. This award positively reinforces the outstanding qualities of our young people and publicly acknowledges their efforts.

To qualify, the student must be a resident in the Village of Hanover Park, a member of the graduating class of 2020 and plan to continue their education at a community college, technical school, or university after graduation. The Youth of the Year will be selected and presented with an award and $1,000 scholarship at the Village Awards Night to be held January, 2020. This year, the Village is also offering four $500 scholarships to the runner-ups.
 
We encourage you to consider any high school senior living in Hanover Park who would be an appropriate candidate for this award and ask him/her to complete the application, which can be found on our website here. Applications for the 2019-2020 Hanover Park Youth of the Year will be accepted until December 6, 2019. Hanover Park Offers Language Translation Service 

We Can Speak Your Language. Just Ask! 

As “America’s Global Village,” the Village of Hanover Park has over 80 nationalities and 30 languages spoken in it. The Village of Hanover Park has added a language translation service that can be utilized by residents and visitors to help conduct their day-to-day business with the Village. The use of the translation service will improve communications and enhance the customer service experience for individuals interacting with village employees.

Most of the language translation will be done by interpreters over the phone however video translation is also available for American Sign Language and other specific situations as needed. The company, Voiance, also offers document and on-site translation. The service supplements a current, robust pool of village employees with foreign language proficiency.
