The purpose of the Historical Committee is to promote educational, cultural, economic and general welfare of the community by ensuring the preservation of structures and properties that represent the cultural heritage of the Village of Hanover Park and of the community prior to the Village's incorporation. Projects include scanning of historic photo's, organizing of historic materials and artifacts and maintenance of two historic cemeteries and documentation of plots, including mapping.

For the 34th consecutive year, the Village of Hanover Park has received recognition as a Tree City USA through the Arbor Day Foundation. To commemorate the recognition, Village Clerk Eira Corral Sepúlveda will hold an Arbor Day Ceremony at the Hanover Park Sports Complex Pavilion at 1200 Sycamore Avenue on April 26, 2019 at 10:00 am. The Tree Planting Ceremony will serve as an opportunity to honor three community leaders that have served in Hanover Park: Bob Wachsmuth, Russ Hart and Terri Vlach.

Volunteers are needed to help clean up, build up, and improve Hanover Park. The Cultural Inclusion and Diversity Committee have teamed up with DuPage Habitat for Humanity to help clean up and build up the Tanglewood neighborhood in Hanover Park. The day will start with a check-in, safety talk, and explanation of the volunteer assignments for the morning and will end with a community barbecue in the afternoon.
