2022 Infrastructure Improvement Project Begins! The Village of Hanover Park’s Infrastructure Improvement Project is scheduled to start Friday July 1, with preparation for water main work on Northway Drive. The following week water main installation will begin. Various other streets included in this project will start with some curb and gutter replacement and sidewalk replacement to bring crossings and intersection into compliance with ADA requirements. Residents whose street is part of the resurfacing project were sent notification detailing what to expect during construction. With any construction project, residents on the affected streets may notice colored flags in the parkway along their street and paint marks along curb and sidewalk. We ask residents to leave the flags in place during construction as the flags mark underground utilities for the contractor. For the duration of the project, residents will retain access to their street and driveway though minor delays may occur. If you have any questions regarding construction activities, please contact Public Works at 630-823-5700 for additional information. A map of Village streets being improved during the 2022 season is available on our website.

2022 Resurfacing Project Update
Construction continues with concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter removal and replacement on the south portion of the project.
As a part of this project, 34 street sections will be improved. These improvements will include various storm sewer improvements, spot drainage improvements (e.g., curb and gutter replacement), spot sidewalk removal and replacement to meet the current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, pavement patching, removal and replacement of the existing asphalt surface, pavement markings, and necessary restoration.
The public will have access to the streets during construction; however, minor delays may occur. Some residents may also lose access to their driveway temporarily when concrete work is performed. If you have any questions or concerns regarding construction activities, please contact Public Works at 630-823-5700 for additional information.

The 2021 Consumer Confidence Water Quality Report The Village of Hanover Park is dedicated to providing our residents with safe drinking water. As part of this effort, we have prepared the Consumer Confidence Report (CCR). This report is a requirement of the 1996 Safe Drinking Water Act amendments. It summarizes where your water came from, what it was made of, and how it compared to the standards established by regulatory agencies. Contaminants that may be present in source water include: - Microbial contaminants-viruses and bacteria which may come from septic systems, livestock, or wildlife.
- Inorganic contaminants – salts and metals which may be naturally-occurring or result from stormwater runoff, oil and gas production, mining, or farming.
- Pesticides and herbicides – these chemicals come from a variety of sources such as agriculture and residential uses.
- Organic chemical contaminants – by-products of industrial processes and petroleum production.
- Radioactive contaminants – can be naturally occurring or a result of oil and gas production.
One important item to realize is that these materials can be found throughout nature to some degree. Their presence does not necessarily mean that there is a health risk associated with our source water. The most important factor to consider is how much of the contaminant is found in the Village’s water supply. View the CCR report or for a paper copy, please feel free to contact the Village of Hanover Park’s Public Works Department at (630) 823-5700.
