Storm Damage Assessment SurveyOn Saturday, July 4th, the Village of Hanover Park experienced unprecedented rainfall, with totals exceeding 4 inches within an hour, resulting in flooding that impacted residential homes throughout our Village. In response, the Village is collecting data from residents to better understand the extent of this flooding. This survey will be used to advocate on behalf of Village residents to County, State, and Federal agencies, should disaster assistance funding become available. The data collected will also help identify the areas most affected by flooding and assist with future drainage improvement planning. Please note that completion of this survey does not imply Village responsibility or liability, nor does it guarantee financial assistance. This survey is solely intended to gather information for planning purposes. The Village of Hanover Park thanks you for your time in providing this information, so we may better understand the impact of this event on our community.

Projects in Progress2026 Concrete Replacement Update: This week, the Village’s contractor completed some punch list work and is expected to resume spot sidewalk and curb and gutter replacement throughout the Village in the upcoming weeks. Lake Street Multi-Use Path Update: The contractor continued paving the new path and pouring concrete sections. This project will include daily lane closures along Lake Street from Church Street/Metra Station to Turnberry Drive. Projects Beginning Soon2026 Pavement Rejuvenation Update: Next week, the Village's contractor will begin placing a pavement rejuvenator. This preventive maintenance treatment helps extend the pavement's useful life. This treatment helps extend the pavement’s useful life by spraying oil on it to “rehydrate” the asphalt. After the oil is sprayed, the contractor will place sand over it for a day or two to help prevent any tracking on tires, vehicles, or other pavement. Minor traffic delays may be experienced. Please use caution while driving on these streets. Visit the Village's website for the list of impacted streets. 2026 Fire Hydrant Painting Update: In the coming weeks, the Village’s contractor will be sandblasting and painting fire hydrants in the neighborhoods along Lake Street, including some of the hydrants on Lake Street. County Farm Road Multi-Use Path Update: Path installation will resume once utility relocations take place. Non-Village ProjectsFiber Installation (Lumos/T-Mobile): Lumos/T-Mobile has several fiber installation projects throughout the Village. These are not Village-run projects. Any questions or concerns about these projects should be directed to Lumos’s Construction Hotline at 800-905-9017.
