OBJECTIVE:
To slow the natural deterioration of the Village's new asphalt streets.DESCRIPTION: A rejuvenating agent is applied to the surface of newly paved asphalt streets and then sand is placed on top of it to prevent tracking of the material.
7/10/26 UPDATE: The Village's contractor, Corrective Asphalt Materials, will apply a rejuvenating agent to the surface of newly paved asphalt streets. Then sand is placed on top to prevent the material from tracking, and it is swept up within a few days once the material has had time to cure.
No parking will be allowed on the street until after the sand is swept up; however, driving may begin as soon as the sand is placed on the street. Please drive slowly and use caution while the material cures to prevent tracking on tires, vehicles, and other pavement. If the material gets on your tires or vehicle, it will not damage your vehicle, and bug-and-tar remover will remove it. If the material gets on any pavement, it will naturally fade within a few weeks.
