Educational and Networking Events

The Committee regularly hosts educational and networking opportunities for local businesses with regional partners, including the Bartlett Area Chamber, the Northwest Hispanic Chamber, and the Women's Business Development Center.

 Regular events include:

  • Quarterly Business Education Seminars on Technology (B.E.S.T.)

Purpose

The Economic Development Committee works to create an environment to attract and retain quality commercial and industrial business to the Village in order to encourage economic development, increase local sales and real estate revenues, create new employment opportunities, diversify the local economy, enhance the community's image, all of which will benefit Village residents.  

Committee members serve as ambassadors to businesses and liaisons to the Village to support and provide feedback to the Village Board on the impact of economic development activities and regulations on businesses.

FUNCTIONS

The Economic Development Committee (EDC) is a voice for businesses in the community.  The Committee assists the Village Board by providing the business perspective on policies, business-related regulations and projects aimed to grow the local economy.

The EDC promotes our business community with annual events including the Business of the Year Award and Small Business Saturday. In addition, the EDC participates ribbon cutting ceremonies and  features businesses in the Spotlight on Business section of the Village newsletter and website.

Staff continually works with the Hanover Park Economic Development Committee regarding development updates and potential business retention, expansion, and attraction proposals.
