After 36 years of dedicated service to municipal government, Village Manager Juliana Maller announced that she will be retiring from the Village of Hanover Park this year.

Maller was appointed as the Village Manager in 2012, serving the Village of Hanover Park for almost 13 years. Prior to her time in Hanover Park, she held roles in Skokie, West Chicago, and Park Ridge. Maller stated, “I have enjoyed being a part of such an exceptional community and organization. I am especially proud to be leaving the Village of Hanover Park in sound financial condition, with the lowest crime rate in the Village’s history, improved infrastructure, and the prospect of major residential development throughout the Village Center.”

As Village Manager, Maller has been instrumental in advancing the Village Board’s strategic goals, emphasizing the importance of the community’s financial health and readiness for future economic development. Under Maller’s tenure, the Village completed several high-profile projects, including the construction of Fire Station #16, stabilization and sale of the Hanover Square Shopping Center, development of the Village Center plan and public improvements, design of the future I390 extension, and redesign of the MWRD Sports Complex. She has represented the Village on multiple regional committees and boards, including NSMJAWA, Northwest Municipal Conference, DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference, and DU-COMM. Throughout her career, she has served as President of IAMMA, ILCMA, and Metropolitan Management Association, and as the Midwest Regional Vice President of ICMA.

“I express my heartfelt gratitude to Manager Maller for her years of dedicated service to the Village of Hanover Park. Through her exceptional leadership and commitment, we have been able to place the Village in the strong position it is in today and laid the groundwork for an even brighter future,” said Mayor Craig.

Maller looks forward to spending more time with family and pursuing other personal interests.
