How To Identify A Census Worker

Here are some ways you can verify an individual is a Census Bureau employee:

  • The census taker or field representative will present an ID badge that includes:

    • their name,

    • their photograph,

    • a Department of Commerce watermark, and

    • an expiration date.

  • They will have an official bag and Census Bureau-issued electronic device, such as a laptop or smartphone, bearing the Census Bureau logo.

  • Census takers and field representatives will conduct their work between the hours of 9am and 9pm, local time.

  • Census representatives will be at local organizations and community events with computer tablets to help individuals respond online to the 2020 Census.

The best way to avoid being visited at home by a census taker, or enumerator, is to complete the 2020 Census online, by phone, or by mail.

We must make sure that you and everyone in our community is counted. Respond online at  www.my2020census.gov.

drive sober or get pulled over

This Labor Day, Remember: Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over

“No Excuses,” says Hanover Park Police Department

As Labor Day and the unofficial end of summer near, Hanover Park Police Department is partnering with law enforcement throughout the state to stop impaired driving and help save lives.

“While celebrations marking the last days of summer may look different this year than in times past, the potential remains for an increase in the number of impaired drivers on the roads,” said Deputy Chief Terrence Sherrill. “Impaired driving kills more than 10,000 people in the United States each year. Please plan ahead for a safe ride home before you leave the house. It truly is a matter of life or death.”

The high-visibility “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” enforcement campaign runs from Aug. 20 through the early-morning hours of Sept. 8. During this period, motorists in Hanover Park can expect to see stepped-up impaired driving patrols and seat-belt enforcement, particularly at night when seat-belt usage rates are at their lowest. Speeders and distracted drivers should also be aware.

If you’re celebrating this Labor Day, remember to designate a sober driver and don’t let friends or family members drive drunk. Even a small amount of alcohol can impair judgment and reaction times, making driving unsafe.

This #LaborDay & every day, make the smart choice to #DriveSober. #LifeorDeathIllinois
