The Village of Hanover Park Fire Department is hiring Part-Time and Full-Time Firefighters!
The Hanover Park Fire Department proudly serves a community of 40,000 residents in 6.5 sq miles. HPFD responds to approximately 3,500-4,000 per year. Members of the Hanover Park Fire Department respond to surrounding communities to assist with: EMS, Fire, Rescue, Hazardous Material Incidents, Heavy Rescue, Extrication, Dive and Technical Rescue calls.
Interested persons must complete the Hanover Park job application and the National Testing Network (NTN) Firefighter FireTeam written exam for the Village of Hanover Park.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS for Full-Time FF/Paramedic:
- Education: minimum of H.S. diploma or GED
- Age: Must be 21 years of age and under the age of 35 by the date the preliminary eligibility list is created. For age limitation exceptions, please refer to the IL General Assembly compiled statute 65 ILCS 5/10-2.1-6.
- Paramedic: Eligible candidates must meet one of the two following minimum requirements:
- Must hold a license as a Paramedic by the date of a conditional job offer AND have the ability to transfer to a State of Illinois paramedic license. (No Basic Operations Firefighter Certification necessary)
- Must be enrolled in an approved Paramedic Certification Program AND have a valid Basic Operations Firefighter Certification issued by the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal. An approved Paramedic Program is defined as the Greater Elgin Area EMS Program, or any other program that will allow a candidate to complete their field internship (ride-time) requirements with the Hanover Park Fire Department.
- Valid CPAT card with ladder climb: Required on the date of a conditional job offer. The CPAT test cannot be more than 1 - year old.
- Valid Driver’s License in good standing
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS for Part-Time FF/EMT:
- Education: minimum of a H.S. diploma or GED
- Age: Must be 21 years of age, or at least 20 years of age with 2 years of college course work in Fire Science or related field.
- Emergency Medical Technician: Must hold a license as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or be enrolled in an EMT course. You must be a licensed EMT by the date the preliminary eligibility list is created.
- Valid CPAT card with ladder climb: Required on the date of a conditional job offer. The CPAT test cannot be more than 1 - year old.
- Valid Driver’s License in good standing
